  3. This is an updated port of RasMol based on the 2.6beta2 source. See the !Help
  4. file inside the !RasMol directory for more information.

  6. RasMol2 is a molecular graphics program intended for the visualisation of
  7. proteins, nucleic acids and small molecules. The program is aimed at display,
  8. teaching and generation of publication quality images. RasMol runs on
  9. Microsoft Windows, Apple Macintosh, Acorn RISC OS, UNIX and VMS systems. The
  10. UNIX and VMS systems require an 8, 24 or 32 bit colour X Windows display
  11. (X11R4 or later). The program reads in a molecule co-ordinate file and
  12. interactively displays the molecule on the screen in a variety of colour
  13. schemes and molecule representations. Currently available representations
  14. include depth-cued wireframes, 'Dreiding' sticks, spacefilling (CPK) spheres,
  15. ball and stick, solid and strand biomolecular ribbons, atom labels and dot
  16. surfaces.
